Subject: Tornado Recovery Work on Sunday, 9/29/2019

Volunteer cleanup work in the Town of Wheaton continues tomorrow (Sunday 9/29/2019) rain or shine. Rain is predicted throughout the day; please bring along your own rain gear and appropriate shoes or boots.
Volunteers may register and receive work assignments at the Wheaton Fire Station, 3900 38th Street starting at 9:00 a.m. A VALID DRIVER’S LICENSE IS REQUIRED AT REGISTRATION. Those without proper identification will be turned away. The Fire Station is located on the south side of State Highway 29 off 40th Street.
Each volunteer will be assigned to a group to assist affected property owners with debris pickup and removal. INDIVIDUALS MUST BE OVER 18 YEARS OF AGE. Established volunteer organizations must complete waiver forms for minors in their group each day before participating. Forms are available at the check-in station.

Please Note:

Streets in affected neighborhoods are not open to through traffic. Residents only–no other traffic is allowed.

Residents in the affected area who are in need of further assistance for debris removal or who have not reported their property damage may call 211 referral service for assistance.
