The township will now be overseeing the clean-up and recovery efforts. A list of individuals who need some assistance is being maintained at the Wheaton Fire Station. If you are in need of assistance, please call 211.
Volunteers looking to help during the coming week are asked to arrive at the Wheaton Fire Station at 9am each morning. You are encouraged to check in and out at the fire station each day. Again, we have a list of individuals who are requesting help if you are not already committed elsewhere. This process will continue until at least Friday, October 4th.
Please DO NOT place any more brush or debris in the town right of way. Removal of these items is a huge expense to the town.
The Wheaton Fire Department and the Wheaton Town Board are grateful for the help and support of the Wisconsin DNR Forestry Division, who managed the disaster the past few days. We could not have done this without their help and guidance.
Continue to monitor the Town of Wheaton website www.townofwheaton.com and the Wheaton Fire Station Facebook Page for current & accurate information.
