CHAPTER 5 NO PARKING ZONES ORDINANCE

 

On April 11, 2023 the Wheaton Town Board adopted Chapter 5 No Parking Zones ordinance as relates to town roads and large venue special events in the new Eau Claire Event District area.

 

CHAPTER 5 NO PARKING ZONES ORDINANCE

 

NO PARKING ZONES SCHEDULE – Provides listing of the affected town roads.

 

NO PARKING ZONES MAP – Provides map of the affected town roads.

 

The ordinance, schedule, and map have all been added to Ordinances & Resolutions page under Government menu for future reference.

 

Here are some questions that may come to mind as you review this information along with answers.

 

1.)  Are the no parking zones 365 days a year? 

ANSWER:  No – We understand there has to be a balance between all parties involved here and as a result these no parking zones are as needed to address large event venues with high traffic volumes.

 

2.)  Will there be signs posted on the affected town roads?

ANSWER:  Yes – Signs are being finalized and will be of a flip style type. 

Example 1:  No parking zones are in effect the signs at the affected town road entry points will be flipped open and show No Parking Vehicles Towed at Owners Expense. 

Example 2:  No parking zones are not in effect the signs at the affected town road entry points will be flipped closed with nothing showing.

This process is commonly used for seasonal road weight restrictions (road bans) in the spring with other municipalities.

 

3.)  Are there any exemptions on the affected town roads during no parking events?

ANSWER:  No

 

4.)  Can the affected town roads change in the future?  

ANSWER:  Yes – Town Board has the authority to modify the schedule and map as needed. 

 

5.)  Will a no parking zone notice be posted on website and Facebook page before it goes into effect?

ANSWER:  Yes – It will be posted on the website under News and Notices section and Facebook page.
