Wheaton Park Winter Activities Spotlight: The weather has certainly thrown some curve balls over the last couple weeks and with the cold weather we were able to make ice in Wheaton Park this year. So if you are looking for winter activities come out to Wheaton Park 40th Street Entrance and take part in the winter activities available for all ages.  Ice Skating – Rink is open for the season and located next to 40th Street parking lot Sledding and Snowboarding – Follow our trail map and trail signs from the 40th Street parking lot Walking/Snowshoeing Trails Snowmobile Trail Access Don’t have a sled for sledding?  Feel free to use one from our sled borrowing station.    At this time we would also like to thank the following business and groups for helping provide these recreational opportunities and amenities in the Town of Wheaton.  #community Solhawk Dairy – Providing ice rink liner. Park Volunteers – Rolling out ice rink liner and getting it set for water.  Also shoveling the ice rink. Wheaton Fire & Rescue – Handling water needs for the ice rink. BSA Troop 71 Elk Mound Eagle Scout Grady Larson – Adding the sled borrowing station and bench seating for sledding hill viewers. Girl Scout Troop 3365 Elk Mound – Adding bench seating for ice rink viewers. Wheaton Knight Riders – Signing snowmobile trail access in the park. Plan Commissioner Appointments in April

The term of service for the Plan Commission is a three year appointment. The position held by Gary De Moe is the one the Board has filled by a Board Member.

The terms for Gary Bodenburg, Wayne Miller, and Nate LaBelle expire in April, 2018. Anyone interested in one of these commissioner appointments, contact the Town Chair or Board Supervisor to be considered for this appointment.

The term of Alice Droske expires in April, 2019
The terms of Mike McGinley and Tom Piercy expires in April, 2020.

 

Park Commissioner Appointments for July 1, 2018

The term of service for the Park Commission is a seven year appointment. One member’s term expires each year on this 7 person commission.

Jenny Schutte term expires on June 30, 2018. Anyone interested in this appointed position should contact the Town Chair or Board Supervisor to be considered for this appointment.

The remaining commissioners and year of term is: Dora Wood (2019), Lynnette Muszynski (2020), Stephanie Hay (2021), Chad Kragness (2022), Ken Books (2023) and Brian Gerrits (2024)
