The Upper Midwest’s energy grid is changing and new transmission lines are needed to ensure customers throughout Western Wisconsin have the electric service they need.

Xcel Energy is proposing the Western Wisconsin Transmission Connection, a 345kV transmission project that would run between Blair, Eau Claire, and two potential end-points connecting to an existing 345kV transmission line near Owen or Stanley depending on the final route. 

Feedback on the potential route options are currently under consideration.  An open house to learn more about the project, the upcoming regulatory process, and to provide feedback on route options is being held:
